The Garnet Pendant Necklace has faceted beads. These beads twinkle as they catch the light through movement whist being worn.
The garnet pendant drop is 4cm long. The garnet beads are interspaced with handmade fine silver, fair trade beads. The sterling silver belcher chain is 40cm (16 inches) long. This necklace has a sterling silver clasp and additional extension chain included. The necklace can be worn from 41cm (16 inches) to 46cm (18 inches).
Garnet – Birthstone for January and Root Chakra Stone
Garnet is often associated as a symbol of friendship and trust. Historically is was believed to offer protection to the wearer and many ancient warriors wore Garnet into battle.
Throughout history Garnet has been well loved. In Ancient Greece it was treasured for its mystical powers with claims to heal relationships and feuding lovers. Garnet adorned the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt. The Romans inlaid intricate metalwork and jewellery with Garnet. In the Middle Ages, red garnet was fashionable among clergymen and nobility.
Garnet is a stone of commitment, it represents love. Garnet revitalises feelings and enhances sexuality, bringing warmth, devotion, understanding and trust. Red Garnet controls anger, especially toward the self.
Garnet is a root Chakra stone and relates to a feeling of security and being grounded. It is also linked to our survival instinct along with money matters and food.
Colour – Red is the most common and the colour most think of but Garnet can be green, orange and even blue.
Sizing
All our necklaces, unless otherwise stated can be worn from 41cm (16 inches) to 46cm (18 inches). Standard chain length is 41cm and an additional extension chain included adds an extra 5cm.
Our chains are all recycled sterling silver belcher chains with a sterling silver clasp. Unless otherwise stated.
We use strong, durable and high quality beading wire to string our beaded jewellery and all findings are sterling silver.

Caring for your Jewellery
Fine silver is 99.9% silver and our silver is usually between 96- 99%. Sterling silver in comparison is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper and other mixed metals. The purity of fine silver means it will tarnish (oxidise) less quickly than sterling silver and if you are sensitive to metals, Luna Tree jewellery, with its purity will not irritate sensitive skins.
Our jewellery is always nickel free.
All items over 7.78 grams are purity tested and hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office.
Luna Tree silver loves to be worn and wearing your pieces will keep them shining. When not being worn we recommend storing your jewellery in air tight containers away from sunlight in a cool dry place. Avoid contact with harsh chemicals such as hairspray, perfume and deodorant. Do not wear your jewellery when gardening, doing DIY, or bathing. Swimming pool chemicals will bring unwanted changes to the appearance of silver.
Clean your jewellery with a silver cleaning cloth when required. These are available from all high street jewellers and online merchants.
Luna Tree recommends the Talk Town silver cloth.
Deep Cleaning
For a deeper clean, to remove bacteria, submerge your silver jewellery in warm water with a little washing up liquid. This is all that is required as a cleaning solution. Soak your silver for about 30 minutes in the solution and use a soft toothbrush to gently clean. Rinse in fresh clean water and pat dry before buffing with a silver cloth. Gemstone jewellery can be safely cleaned this way too.
Packaging and Delivery
We are a plastic free business and refuse to use plastic in our supply chain. All jewellery is packaged in bio film created from plant starch. They are EN13432 compostable PLA bags which are fully biodegradable. All our other packaging material is paper/cardboard which is widely recyclable.
Our orders are normally dispatched on the next working day. Busier periods can take up to 3 working days.

Luna Tree was established in 2007 selling fair trade, handmade, silver jewellery.
We have a simple philosophy at Luna Tree ' You are unique, your jewellery should be too'.
Built on deep rooted ethics of trade justice and environmental sustainability, we work directly with a community of Hill Tribe silversmiths in Thailand. Here we work in a collaborative way on the jewellery designs, while the village silversmiths run as a cooperative.
The jewellery is all recycled fine silver, produced with traditional silversmithing techniques and hand tools. This hands on approach gives the pieces a uniqueness all their own and an organic feel.
