Handmade Fair Trade Silver Jewellery Since 2007
Luna Tree was founded by Clare McCormack in Chester, Cheshire in 2007.
We create handmade silver jewellery in collaboration with Karen Hill Tribe silversmiths in Northern Thailand, alongside a growing collection of recycled silver jewellery handmade by Clare in our Cheshire studio.
Fair trade, sustainability and thoughtful craftsmanship are at the heart of everything we do—creating jewellery with real character and a meaningful connection to the people who made it.
Meet the Founder

Clare is the founder of Luna Tree and lives in Chester, North West UK. A creative arty person, who lives by the William Morris quote “Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.” Clare is a self confessed tree hugger, a novice micologist and mad cat lady. She is a passionate advocate for trade justice, the animal kingdom and the environment, and these passions are the very foundation of Luna Tree.

Collaboration and Creativity
We take a collaborative approach working with our artisan partners. Their creativity is the central focus of the business, alongside the Fair Trade ethics of Luna Tree.
The Karen people maintain a close harmony with the natural world. Working as subsistence farmers they have a very spiritual connection with their land. The hand worked fine silver they produce has a distinctive organic look, weight and feel all its own.
Every Luna Tree piece carries a direct connection back to the silversmith who created it.

The Cheshire Studio
Alongside the Karen silver collections, we have a growing complimentary range of recycled silver jewellery, created in our Cheshire studio by Clare. Clare is a self taught silversmith and her journey began during the first lockdown in 2020 when she was unable to recieve orders from Thailand. The range is created from silver accumulated and reclaimed.

Elephant Stampede…
Spending time with our artisan partners in Thailand also led Clare to volunteer at Elephant Nature Park in Northern Thailand.
That connection inspired our elephant art print collection, with 50% of profits donated to the Save Elephant Foundation
During trips to visit our silversmith partners, to place orders and to work on new designs, volunteering at ENP became a regular highlight of time spent in Thailand.
ENP is a sanctuary in Northern Thailand for Asian elephants and many other rescued animals. This is a place where the elephants gain their freedom from servitude. They can live out the rest of their lives naturally at ENP. Looking for away to support the great work at ENP beyond time spent volunteering in 2010 a range of art prints by Lertsark Bangkeaw were added to the Luna Tree repertoire. The Save Elephant Foundation is a registered charity which funds ENP, and both are founded by Sangdeaun Lek Chailert.
ENP also work on Fair Trade principles and only serve vegan food to their volunteer guests. A place where people, animals and the land are all looked after. A true utopian place which is incredibly special.
